View of my own Garden |
Initial Consultation
My Initial Consultation is an opportunity to explore
your gardening preferences and aspirations, and to assess the condition and potential of
the site.
My Design Portfolio will provide some idea of what
might be achieved in your own garden, and we will take time to discuss suitable design
ideas and styles.
My initial visit generally takes an hour and a
standard fee of £25 applies.
Following our meeting I will prepare a written
Client Brief (a summary of our discussion) together with a quote for any design work that
we have agreed will be appropriate and helpful for you.
Design Work
If my quote and terms are acceptable, I will carry
out a basic site survey to record as appropriate: garden size, levels, boundaries,
aspect, existing plants and features, soil type and condition.

Example Master Plan |
Using the Client Brief
and survey information I will develop my ideas and create your individual design proposal.
Ideas will be presented in the form of a scale
sketch outlining the proposed layout of your new garden.
We will consider, discuss and adjust as necessary.
The final Master Plan of your new garden will be
hand drawn to scale, coloured, labeled and illustrated for clarity.
|
| If appropriate, I
will also prepare scale elevations, cross-section sketches or axonometric (three
dimensional) drawings. These are helpful if your garden has any significant changes
in level and are provided at no extra cost.
I will also provide a short list of Suppliers and
Contractors recommended to me by previous clients. (The list is compiled and offered
in good faith, however I cannot accept responsibility for service or products
provided by companies listed. ) |

| Planting Plans "A collection of plants is not a garden, anymore
than a list of choice words is a poem . . . ."
Planting plans can be commissioned as part of an
overall garden design or they can be provided to revamp your existing borders.
My specification of plants will take into account
your personal preferences and also the growing conditions in your garden. Existing
plants will be recycled where appropriate.
Your Planting Plan will be presented as a separate
scale drawing. The Plan will detail genus, cultivare, quantities and planting positions.
A plant schedule will also be provided listing all the plants required.
If necessary I can offer advice on soil preparation
and general garden maintenance.
